
Lisa Blair
Lisa Blair is an Australian sailor, author, citizen scientist and inspirational speaker who holds multiple world sailing records for solo sailing, including fastest solo circumnavigation of Australia, the Antarctic, and New Zealand, and fastest trip from Sydney to Auckland. She is also an advocate for action against climate change, which she promotes through her Climate Action Now project, and has undertaken scientific projects during her sailing... journeys to study climate change, ocean conditions and the impact of microplastics in the Antarctic. Lisa authored a book, Facing Fear, about her first attempt at circumnavigating Antarctica solo in 2017, when her yacht was dismasted in a heavy storm south of Cape Town, and her return to complete the journey. In 2024 a documentary film 'Ice Maiden' was released about Lisa's first solo circumnavigation of Antarctica in 2017. As of 2025, Lisa is preparing to sail solo around the Arctic, passing through both the Northwest Passage and the Northeast Passage, in one season.
