Jules Fuerst - Double Feature

Jules Fuerst

One of the earliest cinematographers in England to film topical events. Born in Germany and known to be resident in England from around 1891. It is possible that English subject film in the Lumière catalogue at the time, such as scenes taken of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897, were his work. Other known works include Henley Royal Regatta and the Aldershot Jubilee review. As an approved seller in London of Lumière equipment such as film plates, the camera he used was made by Lumière.
