Joshua D. Maley
Joshua D. Maley, born January 1, 1979, in Industry, PA, is a filmmaker and author known mostly for his forays into the horror genre. Raised in Southwestern Pennsylvania, Maley's early passion for storytelling led him from writing short stories and stage plays to directing his first short film, "Eros is Thanatos," in 2004. Inspired by this experience, he pursued formal education in film, attending Point Park University and Full Sail Online. In 20...15, Maley established Grimm Sleeper Productions, marking his foray into professional filmmaking. His debut short, 415 (2018), debuted at the Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival and has garnered several awards and selections at subsequent festivals. Maley's literary talents also shine, with the publication of his short fiction series, "The Unquiet," which launched in 2018 with "The Unquiet Grave" and continued in its 2021 sequel, "The Unquiet Gift." Continuing to push creative boundaries, Maley ventured into feature filmmaking with the psychological thriller, "Waltz," which will debut late this year and has already picked up recognition and awards for its trailer and promotional art. He is currently immersed in the production of the horror short, "Dead Friends Forever." Additionally, he is developing "GEN-X: The Movie" and "Unburied," showcasing his versatility across genres.
