In 2018, a lesbian woman, a gay man and a transgender woman became the first people in the history of Costa Rica to campaign openly for LGBTIQ+ deputies. Dayana Hernández and Margarita Salas from the group Vamos, as well as the current pro-government deputy Enrique Sánchez, star in Cálido Afuera, a short documentary directed by Sofía Corrales and David Ulloa.
