Whispering Rocks tells the story of a young boy and his horse, whose daily task is to transport timber props to coal miners working in the tunnels of a mountain. The miners use explosives to break apart rocks, and the terrifying sounds of these explosions frighten the horse. The boy promises his horse that they will soon leave the mine forever. However, one day, an explosion startles the horse, causing it to flee into a tunnel.
