Farzin is a young mechanic who works at Mr. Dolatmand's factory. He meets Khatereh, Dolatmand's daughter, and they gradually fall in love. Farzin's witty assistant also becomes interested in Khatereh's friend. Dolatmand opposes this union and decides to marry his daughter off to Engineer Jamie, who is engaged to a foreign woman named Maria.
