From Perestroika to the Millennium: how Russia became free — and how it disposed of this freedom

The project "The Unfinished Time" begins with a ten-part documentary film that tells about the main milestones in the history of Russia during the first post-Soviet decade. There are no authorial texts in the film - it consists entirely of exclusive interviews with over a hundred direct participants in events that took almost ten years to film. The story of the Boris Yeltsin era is told through the eyes of his supporters and opponents: politicians, businessmen, government officials and parliamentarians, journalists, and heads of security and law enforcement, many of whom have been silent in recent years. The 1990s were perhaps the most mythologized time in modern Russian history, which is still being debated constantly. The documentary series "Time That Has Not Passed" gives viewers an opportunity to look at this era through the stereoscope, see it in all its fascinating complexity and understand how it shaped the modern life of the country.
