In the area around the English town of Thornhill, an increasing number of young women are going missing. The police are initially in the dark until they come across the tracks of a mysterious vagabond. Meanwhile, the local priest calls for donations for his charitable campaign "Sausage in the Soup" and gets support from a nun, much to the displeasure of the misogynist sexton...
